fawkeZ 2.0.0

The pure Maven release that kept the frequently used parts of the 1.x codebase and dropped the rest.

The 2.0.0 version is a pure Maven version which includes only those features from the 1.x codebase that were frequently used. The change removed old and unused features and split the single build into a set of cooperating modules.

Modules

ModulePurpose
fawkez parentMaven parent project, used to build the other modules in the correct order.
fawkez codegenThe XSLT code generators, including the simple types generator and the value object generator.
fawkez bootstrapProject bootstrap support for new Java applications.
fawkez commonsUtility classes and shared types such as dates, assertions and base64 handling.
fawkez loggingThe JSR47 based logging concept, with generated exceptions and log messages.

Repository layout

The Maven work lived on a separate line of development so that the 1.x codebase could still be built while the new structure settled.

  • Subversion: /fawkez/browser/trunk-ng, the new generation trunk.
  • Branches: maintenance branches for earlier release lines.
  • Tags: release tags including the 2.0.0 snapshot and the 2.0.91 and 2.0.93 builds.

The archive keeps the full source tree listing and the release roadmap, including the two tickets that were open against this milestone.

Status

The milestone was named fawkez 2.0.0 and described as the first Maven release. At the point the archive was frozen, one of its two tickets was closed and one was still active.

Getting fawkeZ explains how the source was checked out, and the contribution guide explains how patches were submitted.
