Getting fawkeZ

Releases, the Subversion checkout command and the support channel that the project used.

If you want to give fawkeZ a try, download the stable distribution from the project release area. For the latest features you can take a current test release from the same location. Bleeding edge versions come from the continuous build artefacts folder, which was named cctags in the original archive.

Bleeding edge versions should only be used when you plan to contribute to the project. Because the software is in an early stage of development, problems are likely.

Downloads

The project published two kinds of archive:

  • Stable and test releases for normal use. The current source is also published on GitHub.
  • Continuous build artefacts from the integration build. These are warning level material: broken builds are expected.

The original download attachments lived in the Trac wiki. They are no longer served by this archive, so the source repository and the release history in the timeline are the reliable places to start.

Getting the source

Anonymous read access to the fawkeZ Subversion repository was always available. To get all the source code at once, check out the trunk:

svn co https://www.jcoderz.org/svn/fawkez/trunk fawkez

If you created an account in the original Trac system, you could also read the source over HTTPS with the same command. The secure URL had to be used for write access as well.

Further build instructions were kept in the README file of the distribution. The 2.0.0 notes describe the Maven module layout that replaced the older Ant build.

Help

If you need help with fawkeZ, contact the community through the user mailing list. You need to be subscribed before you can send messages to the list. The contact page has the current address.

The whole API documentation was published on the original server, and the list of documented packages was available with it. In this archive, the package names and source layout can be inspected in the source tree.

Archive note Download links that pointed at attachments inside the old Trac installation are not reproduced, because those files are no longer served. No replacement binaries have been invented.
