Cobertura measures how much of the code a test suite actually executes. Its homepage is cobertura.github.io. Within fawkeZ the coverage data is written to a data file by the test run and then read by the report task.
The combined JcReport view shows coverage in a column at the left of each source page, so a reader can see both the finding and whether the surrounding line was covered.
Configuration
- The report task receives the coverage data file through its data file attribute.
- The coverage classes are added to the report classpath.
- When no coverage information is available, the report treats the uncovered line count as zero.
Emma as an alternative
Only one coverage tool can be configured for a report. The project also supported Emma, which reports branch coverage rather than line hit counts. Because the report works at line precision, an Emma line with one covered and one uncovered branch is shown as 50 percent, and a fully covered line is shown as 100 percent.
The FAQ explains how coverage failures influence the quality percentage.
